In my country FileMaker organized some Product Preview Events shortly before FileMaker 12 was introduced.
At this event we asked during the Q&A section whether they planned to introduce a better IDE including at least some of the standard features every modern IDE exhibits. In particular, we mentioned syntax highlighting, auto-completion and copy-pasting (not only custom functions but also) scripts to a text editor so that they can be managed in a code-versioning system.
We were actually surprised that a cheer went up from a large proportion of the attending developers after we had asked our question.
As we all know, these features are not included in FM12.
Would you welcome them, too?
