Hi, I've been studying FileMaker for a month or so and I wondered how to make a "line" in the layout where I can put an "x" or a dot anywhere? I've also wondered how i can make a table like the ones in excel?
Thanks for any answer
h. Like in this article?
it uses FileMaker's object called a Web Viewer. Read more about this object on this forum and in you help documentation.
There is someone who studied more than 3 months to reach the same goal.
h, do you mean checkboxes ("X") and radio buttons ("dot")?
'table like the ones in excel' is subjective. There is no way to have formulas directly in a cell individually that would reference other cells. You can calculate fields to have formulas, but these work on every "column" in a "row".
tell us more what you want to accomplish. Can you post screen shots of what you've got and what you have seen elsewhere. Look at the starter template for ideas.
thanks for the help about tables, I'l just have to find another way to do it
I'm thinkin about a line where i can put a marking anywhere, and in table view it stands as a number betwen 1 and 10.
Web viewer in table view??
What you can do, is simulate the marking using some calculated text in monospaced font, e.g.
 ----------------x--------
This one is rather primitive, but it can be smartened up.
I thought the OP had two different questions. Of course, no wv in tables!
Yeah exactly like that! thanks for all the help
