ODBC in MySQL, create New Record, primary field rejecting

I have a MySQL database that has an ODBC connection with FMS 11 hosted file. The ODBC connection seems to work fine in that I can change records, search, sort, etc... and all is good. However, when in FileMaker, if I try to create a New record in the MySQL Products table, it is rejected and it apparently has something to do with the primary key field "products_id". It is an Integer "INT" type field and is a primary field of 11 characters. When I click in this field, I get a FileMaker error that says "This action cannot be performed because this field is not modifiable". However, when I open up Sequel Pro and add a record and assign a Product ID (4 Digit number), it works just fine. So I can do it with SQL, but not in FileMaker via ODBC. Is there something I need to change in the MySQL table schema? Thanks for any suggestions. Below is a screen shot of the schema in Sequel Pro.
