Tried that with no success ... Has anyone actually managed to connect to a SQLite database before, I wonder?
No constructive addition to the conversation, more a strongish feature requerst to FMI.
Why FMI made SQLLite available to Bento but not to FMP i more than I can understand.
I am fequently getting requests from customers to be able to move addresses between the Address book and FMP.
It is doable, but a bit cumbersome and clumsy.
With support for SQLLite in FMP it would be sooo much slicker.
I've had a couple of projects involving ESS and I really do like the technology.
I found the same page when I googled FileMaker and SQLite. I guess I assumed that because the Actual drivers were recommended by FileMaker then all the database systems could be used as an ESS. I've just tried Execute SQL to make a connection, but even that fails ... it's still prompting me for a username and password. I must be doing something wrong!
I got a lot of information when searching for 'AppleScript and SQLite'. Just saying that if there are other "hooks"...
I can suggest you use our MBS Plugin to connect to the SQLite database and do your queries.
Our plugin can connect to a lot of different database servers independent from Filemaker's data source options.
