Scalable Vector Graphics in Web Viewer

    bright_guy

Has anyone played around with SVG? Or used data url's in a web viewer? Or made the web viewer interactive?

I'm trying to do all three, but I'm stuck on the second. Inkscape helped me create the svg file, which I tried to cut and paste into the web viewer as a data url.

Screen shots 1 and 2 illistrate how I tried (and failed).

Screen shots 3 and 4 illustrate a cheat using the file URL, which points to the svg file on my harddrive.

Also attached is the source fmp12 file.

I got the idea to use svg at DevCon

      Mapping and Geolocation with FileMaker

      Thomas Kunetz FileMaker Inc.

Mr. Kunetz demonstated an interactive map of the US, which was very cool. I tried reverse engineering his file, to use the same technique for a building floor plan, but I got stuck almost immediately here: "data:image/svg+xml;charset=utf-8," & ¶ & Evaluate ( LDfield::svg_data ). This data URL was copied from Mr. K's file. This file is NOT attached because I don't have permission to do so. (Maybe Mr K can?)

Do I need to learn HTML to make this work? Can anyone recommend further reading?

      Thanks FileMaker community,
