Is it possible to access a view in SQL Server 2005 via filemaker pro 12? I am dealing with an existing DB which leverages views and stored procedures extensively and I may need to be able to call these from FM in the future.
Start here. IF you have permission to access the SQL Server 2005 with ODBC, you probably can use ESS (External SQL Sources)
ESS works for DB tables, but FM Pro does not have any way that I can see to access a table view. I am wondering if it is possible call SQL directly to populate a view and pull the results, but I am not sure if or how it would work.
It's in your ODBC setup. Did you specify Views or just tables? also check with your IT (if not you) to see that permission are correct.
Did you follow the links from the one I supplied?
These are helpful:
The ODBC driver I am using (Actual Technologies) does not appear to show views, just tables. Are there superior ODBC drivers that would show SQL Server views as well as tables over ESS?
