    Report with sum for various salesmen

      I have an FM 11 file with a few tables, one of which is sales_tracking.

      I need a way to report monthly totals of the sales data for each of the 11 manufactures for each of the 3 salesmen, so that one report will look liek this:

       

      ManufactureJohnScottDaveTotal
      Apple



      Bacon



      Cheese



      Dates



      Eggs



      Flatbread



      Ginger



      Hops



      Indigo



      Jokers



      Limes



      Milk



      Necterine



      Of course the numbers would correlate.

       

      I have tried a repatoionship and am able to see the montly totals by manufacturer, but not individual salesman. What am I missing?

          Hi-

           

          the way I solve this is with three fields:

          1. an column number assigned to each salesperson

          2. a repeating field something like this

          If ( Extend ( ColumnNumber ) = Get ( CalculationRepetitionNumber ) ;

          Extend ( SalesAmount ) ;

          ""

          )

           

          3. a summary field of the repeating field. be sure to select "options" when defining the field and then choose "summarize repetitions individually". Put this field on the report.

           

          Hope that helps. I keep this calculation on hand for myself because I can never remember where the Get(CalculationRepetitionNumber) function is!

            Nancy,

                 I am not sure exactly how to implemnt what you suggested.  Do I add a calculation field setting it to one of the three salesman, and then the second field??? That is where I get lost.
