Is there a Filemaker implementation of IIf (as in MS Visual basic)?
Even a script will do.
Should I use the Case fn?
Use If() function:
Also study the Case() and Choose() functions. Sometimes they work better rather than nested If() statements.
It all depends on your needs.

I have used If(with a simple unnested test) in my script followed by Set variable as I too have found that complex nested if() dont always work properly.
set variable $test =a complex calculation
If ($test >the calc result)
set variable $count=$count+1
set variable $count=$count+2
Thanks for the comments
It looks like you are using the If script step, not the If() calculation function (note the square brackets vs. parentheses). If you like, the entire thing could be collapsed into:
Set Variable [ $count ; Let ( test = <a complex calculation resulting in 1 (True) or 0 (False)> ; $count + 1 + test ) ]

Oh, they always do work properly - they are just difficult to set up properly.
