How to set up this report in Filemaker (multi sub and multi queries)

Question asked by chunchu on Dec 5, 2012

To whom it may concern,

I am totally new to filemaker pro and have a question on to do this report correctly. Have been trying to couple days and still can not figure everything out.

Here and attached is a sample of the data that I have.

Activity LocationMonth YearTotal Charge
A Indoor7201250
AIndoor7201220
BOutdoor7201250
AIndoor8201239
AOutdoor8201228
CIndoor8201218
COutdoor8201228
DIndoor9201238
AOutdoor9201227
BIndoor9201216
COutdoor8201222
AIndoor8201256
COutdoor9201252
DIndoor8201267
DOutdoor8201292
BIndoor9201223

Basically, I want to able to get average charge for each activity at different location for different priod of time. The detail is not needed (do not need to see each record) but just a summary. And if we can do a search and group specific acitity and/or location and/or time and get the average. That would be the best.

For example. want to see the average charge of all the actitity A for any priod of time and group that by month and year.

want to see the average charge of all the actitives A during Aug 2012 and group them by location

want to see the average charge by the location during July 2012 and group them by activites

want to see the averege charge by location for actitities A

want to see the average charge of July 2012 for each activity.

Can I do that in one layout? Or do I need more than one? May be I am heading to wrong concept.

Thank you very much in advance. Hope someone can answer this dumb question that I have.
