Can someone send me a sample file of how to create a report showing totals per month but in a row or show me how to do it.

What you are after is commonly called a crosstab report, and there is more than one way to do it:

Steve's given you lots of good options. Another useful method (especially if the number of columns is variable) is to generate the report as an HTML table using scripting. This can then be displayed in a web viewer or exported as an HTML or Excel document.
I'll take a look into the demo files that were in that link. Hopefully I can figure it out.

What trouble Im having is calculating the total count that was in the previous week.
I thought I did it right but its not. I need to calculate all events for previous week and also show the total events per month side by side so

I am confused. What is "previous week" relative to a month?
Previous week refers to the total events that was calculated the previous week. So on 12/18 there were 10 total events for NYC but on 12/11 there were only 7
It should look like this
