Does anyone know if it is possible to set up a user account with access to allow changes to database structure but not security settings?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello. No, the ability to modify Tables, Fields and Relationships ("structure"), is only granted to the full access group that also has Security privileges.
Perhaps if you elaborate on your intent, there might be a solution to achive it.
Yes, you can use the script step Open Manage Database. Be aware of the choice at the bottom left "Run script with full privileges" and use a test account without Full Access to understand how this script step works.

Just a heads up; I only give this access to (trusted) users who are the only ones in the file, as changes to schema can lead to unexpected consequences to concurrent users. With power comes responsibility...
Yes you are right, Beatrice! Thanks for the tip.
I might also have a look at ways to log when the changes are made and what is changed, as part of the script. That way if something goes wrong we can check the logs and worse case scenario – go to the backup file just before the change was made.
