Hi at all,
just realized, that document windows of FileMaker 12 have the Windows 7 look even on Windows 8. Only the program window looks like Windows 8.
Is this just me and my system or is this a general bug ?
Is this what you mean? The top right (inactive) is the FileMaker application window. Middle is a FileMaker sub-window. The bottom (active) is notepad.
it is the other way round - see our FM 12 runtime App "INtex Hausverwaltung" - application window is Window 8 style, but the document window is Windows 7 style.
Its not just you and your system no, its FileMaker's implementation of the document windows which never had Windows 8 in mind.
I just hope that in FM Next, the document window style will be 'optional' and allow us to design with a more 'mac like' window experience.
I guess theres technical limitations to why its not like this already, but effort should be made by FMI in my opinion to lose the old fashioned document inside an application window approach.
well, since Feb 2012 there is a Consumer Preview of Windows 8 and I guess developer Betas were available even earlier - so FileMaker could have had a look at it before releasing Filemaker 12. The bug is optically so damn obvious. I posted this as a bug and got confirmation. There should be a hot fix rather soon for this - at least I hope for this. Otherwise you can´t seriously publish any FileMaker solution for Windows 8.
By the way - in Windows many if not most larger programs do have program and document windows - that is not the problem. But they should appear consistent to the system´s look.
