Did you check if port 5003 is open?
Are you installing FM using a Windows Admin account or a Windows User Account?
I had the problem on my Mac last week.
Here is what I did.
Obtained a new download link from my FM Volume license Rep.
Removed all traces of FM from my computer in both the Admin & User Accounts
Made my User Account a Admin
Changed old Admin account to regular user
Installed FMA12 using my Account
Turned old Admin back to Admin and turned my account back to a user
Everything works great
Thanks for the suggestion... I have not yet had a chance to get theuser to try this, but it is the sort of strange thing that just might work. I'll let you know the outcome.
I will check on this... did not originally consider it since theis computer is not hosting/sharing a file, but just accessing a remotely hosted file.
Your license is not the problem it's a multi-user key so you'll be fine. Turn off the Firewall on the local machine just to be sure it's likely being blocked from there. Always check manually first with the Open Remote command to see if you can see the server if you can't but others can something it blocking it from the client side usually.
