I'm using FileMaker Pro Advanced 12.0 v3 on a Mac with OS 10.7.5. A problem which did not exist before has suddenly appeared when I try to save records in pdf format. The application abruptly quits without saving.
Have you made sure that Java and Bonjour are both up to the current versions as well? I know updating those (or waiting for updates) have fixed OSX pdf issues for me before.
I had a problem with automatically opening PDF's, when I updated to Adobe 11 the problem resolved itself
I'm using FileMaker Pro Advanced 12.0 v3 on a iMac with OS 10.8.2 and I have got the same problem. But when I use the same script in the same DB ( in both instances placed on Dropbox) on my MacBook Pro with OS 10.7.5 it works fine and generates my pdf-files smoothly. All programs are updated to newest version.
Here is my script:
This might not be the issues, but I mention above about updating Adobe reader. When I first tried this, Adobe said it was up to date. I had to remove Adobe and reinstall it then my issue was resovled. I also had this happen on a customer's computer and the process to resolve it was the same.
I am having the same problem as you. When I try to save a file as a pdf file Filemaker shuts down and sends an error massage to Apple. I too am using Filemaker Pro Advance 12 on my MacBook running OS 10 and I am using Adobe IV and I made sure that the java option was checked. Was wondering if you found a solution for this issue?
Sorry - not yet. I'm still wondering, why it's working on my MacBook whith the same installaionprofile. I think I will try to ask support!!!!
It works now.
I re-installed FMPro Advanced and now it works.
