    Changing default calendar drop-down month

    stratlake

      Hi Guys,

Need some help: my users are very heavly using the dropdown calendar to change and reschedule jobs daily. Is there a way for the dropdown calender to default to the current month, instead of the month of the data contained in the field?

I was thinking something along the lines of:

Set Variable ($SavedDate, Current Calendar Date)

Set Field (Get(CurrentDate), Current Calendar Date)

          Commit Record

Set Field ($SavedDate, Current Calendar Date)

            Hi,

I think the simple answer is 'no'.... unless you set the date as per the last part of the script.... hence losing the previously scheduled date.

            In this case use:

            Set Field (Date, Get(CurrentDate))

            Commit Record

Perhaps you could have a global date field set to today's date located behind the main date field.

Then set the main date field as a button that takes you to the global date field behind it when clicked.

After you change the date of the global field, a script trigger could set the main date field to the same value, then revert the global field to todays date.  You could also change the properties of the main date field to NOT allow changes in browse mode, so that clicking over it activates the global date field behind it also.  The width of the global date field could be narrowed so that you only see the drop-down calendar part of it.

Can anyone do this without the field expanding vertically downward with the content showing?

ok... this happens with text fields with drop-down lists also.  Increase the width of the date field and it should work out better.
