What will happen to FileMaker Go 11 codes purchased via the Apple volume purchase program that have not been redeemed prior to September 30, 2013? Can these codes still be redeemed, or will they become worthless on October 1st, 2013 because they have not yet been connected to an Apple ID?
Hi Carmen: That's a good question and I'm waiting for an answer on this for you. I'll report back as soon as I have more info.
This is disconcerting because the system requirements to FM 12 for Macs is so high.
No problem for Windows users as a 10-year-old, 256mb, 700 mhz machine running XP can run FM 12 and thus create FM Go 12 products.
Keep FM Go 11! Filemaker should consider making it free if they don't want the hassle of providing tech support.
FM 12 supports OSX 10.6 and up. It doesn't make sense to support lower versions. 10.5 and below have a combined OS market share of less than 2%. XP, old bugger it is, still has a market share of about 25%.
FileMaker 11 runs on 10.6.8 as does FileMaker 12 and QuicKeys.
Interestingly 10.6 has a higher market share (35.31%) than either 10.7 or
We just completed a big desktop<->web<->mobile project for a client
currently running FileMaker 11 and FileMaker Go (11).
I wonder if that project would have gone forward if the client had not been
able to purchase FileMaker Go 11.
All the best,

lol! That makes sense.
Well, you can run FMS12v3 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, but FMS12v4 will not due to its use of Java 7. But, as FileMaker has said, they are "deprecating" (funny word) support for 10.6.8, which basically means that they will not be testing future releases to confirm they will work or not on it. Obviously 12v4 will not. But I the latest Pro Cient 12v3 does.
I was replying to a comment about how FileMaker Pro (to make FM Go compatible apps) runs on old versions of XP but not equally old versions of OS X. FileMaker Server was not mentioned. If you include Server, then FMS12 is not supported on XP either.
Is it possible to still get FileMaker Go 11? Our IT is not ready to go to 12 and I really could use the ability to use FM Go 11 to interface with database to capture signatures. Nothing fancy.
FileMaker Go 11 is no longer available on the iTunes Store.
