As far as I know, this is only possible via plugins. There are several that can accomplish it (ScriptMaster and BaseElements spring to mind, but there are others).

This can also be accomplished with the send event to open an application and the following calculation
"cmd /c md \"" & $Path"
Just make sure to use \ instead of / in your path construction.

You can also build, export and run a .bat file to do some of these tasks. The plugin route is easier.
Executing a bunch of commands in a batch can be done with one Send Event too by separating the commands with "&" or "&&". So in a lot of scenarios no batch file is necessary.

For me, the answer from "Tempo" in above mentioned discussion proved to be the most helpful.
No plugin needed / Send Event configuration only.
