You got this dialog since port 5003 is still in use. Did you restart your machine after uninstallation? If not, do it.
Yes, I had restarted after the uninstallation but I did so again now just to be really sure. But the same problem exists.
But I notice that Launchpad has an extra group named FileMaker Pro 10 (Other) and that this group has one item named ddfmsoc - that's strange!
And ddfmsoc cannot be launched because of an unspecified error but with a comment about checking with the developer whether it runs on this version of Mac OS.
So perhaps it is my own fault for installing FileMaker Pro 10 on Mountain Lion Server X.8.3?
Looks like FMP 10 is no longer supported on OS X 10.8
Mac OS X Mountain Lion compatibility, FileMaker 10 and earlier versions, Bento 4.0.7 and earlier
Earlier versions of FileMaker and Bento have not been tested or certified with Mac OS X Mountain Lion. These products were developed and released before Mac OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion became available.
While these earlier versions may install and run on Mac OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion, you may encounter installation and stability issues for which there is no resolution. We strongly recommend you use current FileMaker software.
Thank you, Peter, I guess I need to upgrade my client's datrabase into FM 11 or 12.
