If you can share the calculation of $filePath variable, then it would be more helpful to understand the problem here.
Here's the script:
Set Variable [$filePath; Value: Get ( DocumentsPath ) & "UTCremote.fmp12"]
Set Field [UTCcentral::filePath; filePath]
Import Records [No dialog; "$filePath"; Add; Mac Roman]
The Import Records step's File Path List:
The purpose of the field UTCcentral::filePath is to display the value of $filePath after the script has run.
Still digging, I enlarged the text box displaying the field UTCcentral::filePath (which is a global variable, so the iPad gets its own copy). The full path turns out to be
The iOS file system is somewhat enigmatic (for me), but that's at least a plausible file path.
The script and the path look fine. Try setting the script to run with Full Access privileges to see what happens.
Well, thanks for the suggestion, but it still fails with the same error message.
Just in case it matters, the iPad is running iOS 6, and FM Go was updated this morning.
The root of the problem seems to be the restriction that in FM Go, the Import Records script step works only when the records are imported from a FileMaker Pro file. That was the case in my example, but an unstated additional requirement is that the Import Records step's File Type specification must be set to FileMaker Pro; leaving it in its default setting of All Available, even when the source file's extension is ".fmp12", is not sufficient.
Add to that omission the misleading error message, "The script step "Import Records" is not supported on this device," and trouble is likely, if not inevitable.
Thanks to TSGal for answering this question in FileMaker Forum.
