Emails sent via "Send Mail" script showing up as having sent 4 hours before they actually were sent?  (time zone issue)

We have a solution that sends an email on FileMaker Server 12 Advanced with the script step "Send Mail" when a user performs a function. The script step sends through SMTP and uses an actual email account hosted by our web hosting company. Up until recently this worked fine but past day or so the emails show up in our mailbox as if they were sent exactly 4 hours before they were actually sent. (So they don't show up as the most recent email of most email applications which sort by date/time by default.) Poking around inside the headers it appears that the date it says it was sent is correct, except it is +0000 time zone which is Greenwich which is not our zone. (We are Eastern EDT.) I read somewhere that the problem might be because FileMaker does not include time zones in timestamps. Does anyone have a solution for this?
