I'm pretty confident the answer is, no, you can't.
But is it really necessary? There are often many ways to accomplish the same result. What are you actually trying to do in a real world sense (not just the mechanics of FileMaker).
FileMaker go has no ability to manage external databases. I avoid using external data sources by using the Open URL step and the fmp protocol. This allows me to launch external scripts and open files without an external data source. This can easily be modified by a user using FM GO.

Obvious answer is that we cannot handle the External Data Source by Scripting or any other means . But , i have slightly researched that if we change the TO for relationships carefully , then we will not have any connection errors like "reattempting server connection" , "Communication with host interrupted" etc.
i.e Let say there is xyz - occurance for sales from same file , abc - occurance from contacts from another external data source
Then the relationship will have
xyz------------>>abc and not in case , from abc------------->xyz
