I'd never heard of foxtail before. But if they're a provider that I can't reach on the phone from 9-5pm, then I'd never ever use them.
Here's some alternate hosts for you that do answer their phones:
Productive Computing http://www.productivecomputing.com/FileMaker-hosting
I haven't used them, but I have heard of them. A couple posters on TechNet use them, maybe they'll chime in.
They absorbed (bought?) Drooling Dog, another hosting company, a couple years back.
They're not a scam.
I use Angelo at FoxTail and have been very happy with their service
Hi Erik -
Please check your SPAM folder for the email, we resent your welcome email again this morning just in-case. The message will be coming from email@example.com.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Just for my future curiosity, do you have "by phone" tech support, and what are the hours on that? Always good to have alternatives!
Hi Mike -
We do have phone support (8-6 PST). Normally we are all here, but in special cases (like the last two days) we were deploying in our new datacenter to expand our US foot print, so we have had all hands on deck to assist with that. Something that needed to happen before this weekend started.
I've just visited your website and checked the IWP examples.
They work very fast but are poorly designed. I think you guys should show better examples of what can be done with FileMaker. Most of the solutions look like FileMaker 3.
Just my 2¢.
Good to know you guys are expanding and investing in infrastructure.
Also good to know that it just sounds like the opening post was a fluke of someone signing up at the worst possible time for support.
Hi There -
Those are the stock FileMaker server examples, not ours. They are only there to serve as an example for hosting, not an example of work. You could submit a feature request to FileMaker and let them know your thoughts on their example file. ;-)
Re Foxtail and Triple8 ... I use both. Foxtail seems to be faster and they spent a lot of support time with me at no cost when there was an issue with my database (header issue with non aligned buttons) ... so I like them. Faily simple system to use as well.
Triple8 has a server in Australia as well as others in the USA so the local server for me in Ausralia is good.
