On the attached layout, I want to hide the drop-down list field beneath the graphic, so that it appears after the graphic is clicked, and disappears after a value is selected.
Is there a way to do that?
The simplest way I can think of for you would be to simply make a duplicate of the layout and have the drop-down list visible there. When the graphic is clicked, it moves to that layout. When a value is selected, it moves back to the original layout possibly.
Also, you could use a tab control. Simply make it the same color of your background and put the drop down list inside of it. When the graphic is clicked, the tab will switch to the tab with the drop down list. When a value is selected, it will switch to a blank tab, so that the drop down list is not visible any longer.
I hope this helps.
well, you can kind of do a hidden thing like this too, without making a new layout.
turn the dropdown into a popup. Hide it behind the button. Set the button to go to the popup field and Select/perform. Have a trigger on the popup so when it is modified, it commits the record. The preview/browse at the end of the script "deactivates" the popup menu.
Does this work?
You can resize the images and field style to make the popup hide the image when it gains focus.
I need something kind of like this. I want to be able to hover over the tab and a drowdown comes down and I can assign scripts to each drop down lables or buttons and have it run a script. Is that possible?
Hover actions have been demonstrated recently for FM13:
