Windows 7 Professional and Filemaker Pro 12v.04

Has anyone here used this product as the default PDF viewer? Our client has been forced to use this product instead of Acrobat Pro or Reader. Reader is not really an option.

I am using this in the context of a solution that uses FileMaker's external open storage. Here are some of the problems we are seeing:

When the pdf is viewed in the container we see the Nuance banner which is fine. However, if a user had Acrobat installed before and, even though Acrobat is not set as the default viewer, the Acrobat banner or floating plalette appears in the container.

When we export the container is always opens in Nuance. This is true even if the user is seeing the Acrobat banner or floating plalette in the container.

When we try to use Insert PDF on the machine with Nuance this is not available, it is greyed out. However, those machine with Acrobat still working in the container field will be able to use this command.

If we only have Nuance on the machine, The pdf opens in Nuanance, the banner in the container is Nuance but the InsertPDF command is not available and doesn't work.

Simple answer is to chuck Nuance but not an option here. And in some instances both Acrobat and Nuance are needed by users.

We suspected it was something to do with the web plug/preferences for Explorer. Resetting these didn't help.

We are going to do some testing with uninstalling both applications and reinstalling with Nuance first then Acrobat to see if that makes a difference.

Thought I'd check the list to see if anyone else has used Nuance in this setting.
