A server-side script schedule on FMS can import from the "documents" folder that is inside the FMS folder structure. If the CSV file is not in that folder but you know where it is then you can use a server-side script sequence schedule that first fires an OS-level script to move the file into the FMS documents folder, followed by a FM script to do the import.
Thanks wimdecorte. I shall try implement it first and come back with the result .
I have supplied the below FilePath when scheduling a script on filemaker server 12.
filemac:/Macintosh HD/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Documents/ABC/rat.csv
There is no file missing error.
But , data is not importing to the hosted file.
Can u address the issue.
Thanks in advance
does the FMS event log show any errors for the script?
Did you construct that file path dynamically using the Get(DocumentsPath) or did you hard code it?
The server Log eventrs doesnot show u any error.
I have constructed the file as "file:" & Get ( DocumentsPath ) & "/ABC" &"/8_27_2013_10.csv"
There is no file missing error , i have checked it.
Thanks wimdecorte for UR feedbacks.
The folder that was created , was only "read only" .So ,even after the Import step , data was not going to the Hosted File.
Can anybody help me to build a Batch file which will take a file name as a parameter and search for the files from a desired folder in a directory and then if the file is found , then that file shall be copied to Documents folder of Server.
i couldnot direclty place the files on the Server's Documents folder because the files are being present on Dropbox and i cannot create a location for installation of Dropbox in the Programs folder where the Filemaker server is installed
Thanks in Advance
I did something simular using the BaseElements plugin which can read files in a directory and can copy files.
Hope that helps,
Ruben van den Boogaard
But i donot want to use any plugin.
The BaseElements plugin is free and has won many deserved accolades on this and other lists. The developer is well respected amongst the Developer Community and a regular exhibitor at DevCon.
I fail to see why you are so reluctant to consider its possible value.
With best regards,
