May not be relevant, but unlikely that our 'older' copy of FileMaker is compatible with Windows 7
The program runs fine on 7 other than the printing issue.
I had a similar thing when i started out in Filemaker. Bit embarressed to say it was a (much too simple) script error where it turned out that i didn't only tell the scriptstep "printersettings" to print x copies but that the scriptsteps to generate a print where triggerd the same x times hence 1=1, 2=4, 3=9
Where do I go to fix the problem?
It sounds like you're using a looping script to print in. Edit the layout that contains the print button you're using, double-click on the button to find out what script it calls, then find the script in the Scripts window (Ctrl+Shift+S) and look for the loop statement that calls the print dialog.
Most likely, there's a loop within a loop. If the outer loop is called once, the inner loop is called once... if the outer loop is called twice, the inner loop is called 4 times, etc.
