Creating a file path to import from iPhoto

    datajim

I'm on a Mac using FM 11 and iPhoto 8.1.2. I want to create a button file path to import photos from iPhoto to a picture container in each record. When I click on "Specify Source File" and navigate to HD:Users:Pictures, the iPhoto Library is not available (grayed)- also if I navigate to Media:Photos, I can access the folders in iPhoto but only choose one photo. Please help, thanks. Jim

Jim, glad you figured it out.

Something you an others may find useful: any iPhoto Library is a package - a special type of folder that looks like a file. You cannot navigate to it in normal open/save dialogs, but you can specify somewhere inside a package using a path in FileMaker. If you want to look inside a package in the Finder, right-click/control-click on it and choose "Show Package Contents", which will open a new window showing the folders and files inside the package.

Other items on a Mac that are packages:

            Applications

            Pages "files"

            Installers

            and many more.
