also check the SyntaxColoring.CheckVariableDeclaration.Enable function:
It is very helpful for us to mark script lines with undeclared variables in red.
Line numbers even display in unexpected places like configuring custom menus. Also: the last rev of the beta colorizer didn't allow setting the color of the line numbers (that I found), but that is possible as well. Very cool stuff.
I try to avoid those false positives.
Can you check with 3.5 final plugin and tell me where to find this dialog where it's showing.
See what you mean!
Check out the latest release of fmSyntaxColorizer(1)
Mangae your colors,
Set the Line Number color with ease,
Turn on the amazing new Variable Checking with a single click(2).
Happy to brighten up our lives...
(1) fmSyntaxColorizer can be found in the ThirdParty folder of the MBS-Plugin download; or get the latest news & releases at http://www.fmworkmate.com
(2) Note that Variable Checking is an 80% solution: It doesn't recognise variable names with spaces, dots, etc. and it doesn't parse calculations for variables defined via the Let( ... ) function... (which is why it is turned off by default), however - particaularly if you don't use those features - it can be REALLY useful: I have already found a number of typos in variable names using it - and, one more thing...
undeclared $variables are even highlighted in the Script Debugger
@taylor - add "and undeclared variable checking" to your title?
Christian: Here's a screenshot of the line numbers in custom menus. One does have to click (and at least attempt) to move the line before the numbers display.
Thanks for all your hard work on this!
Great work. Thanks!
Thanks. I will check that. But for now it's just a little side effect.
Are you sure you run 126.96.36.199 plugin and not an older beta?
I tried FileMaker 12 and 13 on english language and can't find the line numbers in the custom menus dialogs.
They don't show up unless you grab a menu item and begin to move it. I thought it was a feature and like them there.
Okay, than we can keep them :-)
Thank you Nick
Spread the word!
(and check out the other fmWorkMate tools too: new version of which coming VERY soon with fm13 support)
