When I do this from my MacBook Pro I get the following message:
HTTP Status 404 - /error/HTTP_BAD_REQUEST.html.var
FileMaker Server has encountered an error:
The requested resource is not available.
If the Server Launch Page is not available, visit the FileMaker Website for more assistance.
At this point I have uninstalled and installed this a couple of times with out success. If I run the network utility app it shows port 16001 open on localhost, but not on 192.168.2.28.
If I go to localhost:16000 I get the same message.
Anything the in the FMS server logs that would indicate that some of its process have failed?
No errors or warning in the server log. Tried looking at the installation log. All I found were create folder ... and Installed ... entries. No errors that I could see.
During the installation process, there is a screen where it asks for a system account. it suggests fmsadmin. I took the default and left the ID and password blank. Could it have interpreted this as insecure and shut down the ip address for admin?
Thanks for you suggestions.
Finally got to the bottom of this.... I think. This article was a big help. https://fmdev.filemaker.com/message/131836#131836
The magic bullet was putting in the beginning part of the web address so it has to be:
Which is exactly what you suggested earlier. Somehow I thought putting in the address:port would automaticly pick up the https://
If I had copied and pasted your suggestion on my browser I would have had this running much earlier.
Thanks much for your help.
