The Speak script step is failing consistently on some computers running FM 12.05 and earlier in both OSX 10.8.x and 10.7.x.
To reproduce the problem, the following script says "Hello" 1000 times:
Set Variable [ $x; Value:0 ]
Set Variable [ $x; Value:$x+1 ]
New Record/Request Refresh Window
Speak [ Text: "Hello" ]
Exit Loop If [ $x=1000 ]
The script runs great on my desktop iMac (3.2GHz Interl Core i5).
The script causes FileMaker to crash hard each-and-every time it is run on several tested MacBook Airs (1.6 Intel Core 2 Duo).
We use speech feedback in some scripting processes in our production CRM and have been experiencing crashes due to this problem.
Does anybody have a suggestion to mitigate this problem on a MacBook Air? Should I report it as a bug?
