The following refers to Filemaker on Mac (though it may be an issue in Windows as well)
I am wondering if there is a way prevent Filemaker Pro from taking center stage (focus away from the user's activity) when it is called by a filemaker url. In other words:
If I pass a url like
to a web browser (in my case by applescript or automator)
Filemaker jumps to the foreground in the user's work space and processes the request. I would love to figure out a way to have FileMaker respond (staying in the background if it is already there...)
I don't think so... but there are other methodologies which can work.
AppleScript can "tell Application FileMaker Pro" to do anything....
With FMS you can use PHP and execute SQL
With an FMP URL you are telling the OS to open and activate FM.
