You could name then hide the tabs themselves (fixed width = 0 ) and make the labels into button that select the appropriate tab using the Go to Object script step.

You can also hold down the command key (on a Mac, I think it's control key on a PC) while you lasso and you will only select what is surrounded—as per earlier versions of FM—instead of anything you touch as is standard behaviour now. I find that very handy, for example if you want to select the fields in a portal without selecting the portal itself.
