In FM 12 we could use Wingdings or Apple Symbol to hide passwords. In 13 these fonts show only arabic numerals. Any suggestions?
If you are having the user type in a password, this can be done in a custom dialog box. There is an option in the config of the custom dialog to mask the desired input field with bullet characters.
With FM13 on the Mac, it has come to light that symbol fonts like the ones you list, do not work any longer. If you search the forums, you will find a recent thread talking about this. A couple of links below for this that I found quickly. I did not follow it too closely, so can't remember what suggestions came out of it.
You could also get fancy with some script triggers, like this demo from a while back by NightWing Enterprises:
It is not difficult to make your own font - I just made one of "bullets" we have used for the past 10 yrs - but of course you need to ensure that it is included in your installer.
Alternatively - you could use a FMP Dialogue for login instead since that nowadays offers you hiding the password characters?
