Dug under boxes in cupboard and found my software CD archive, about 200 CDs - it's been a while since I bought software on CD and sure enough there are all the filemakers back to 4. Had to install Pro 10 then 10Advanced upgrade. But 12 Advanced was a download which I eventually tracked down to my laptop. Luckily I had a copy of the download and I had installed it there as it allowed me to find the key - while I have the order and payment there is no other record of the key - well I do but it is recorded in a FMP12 database
Then I had to run the 12.4 update ... there has to be a better way. By the time I had done all this it the FileMaker office is nearly open for busines.
I don't remember having to go through all of this before.
If you purchased legitimate software, FileMaker will have a record of it on file. They've successfully issued new keys to me for my software back to v8 over the phone when my keys no longer worked. There is a better way, I just told you, call FileMaker.
