Does the dropdown overlap the edge of the popover? I've seen this action break in certain scenarios.
Have you thought about using an alternative type instead (IE popup list instead of dropdown list?)
The dropdown does not overlap the edge of the popover. I made the popover area extra large while testing. I tested with a popup list and got the same results. I can enter the field, it selects the current text, will let me type it in, but won't display the list.
It works on my computer using FileMaker Pro. I also tested by making the button for the popup smaller and moved it to the body of the layout. When I test this on FM Go, it worked but I don't want this functionality displaying on each line. So it is something with the dropdown list being in the popover in the header when using FM Go.
Is this a global field (or a field from another table) which you are using in the header? Displaying and editing fields in a header while in list view seems counterintuitive if the field is part of the table being viewed in list view. That could be affecting the behavior, but I would expect it to also be a problem in Pro, not just Go.
Fields located in the header are generally considered part of the first record in the list (if in the same table).
It is a global field. I was using it as a filter with a script trigger attached. I have found that if I have the popover appear below the button, where it hangs down into the list view, the drop down will work.
I will do a little more testing and determine what my best options are with this.
Thanks for your help everyone!
I know this is an old post, but I have been experiencing the same behavior even now on my iPad.
It is true that it works in Pro, but not Go iPad.
Thanks for the tip about changing the position of the popover, as that helped a bit, but not in every case.
Best to you,
Discovered that it is also a function of size. When I doubled the size of the drop-down field, then it began to work on iPad.
