Will I have a problem running my own test Server 13 on Windows 7 Home Premium?
Windows 7 Pro is the minimum.
Do you know why David? . . . Upgrading to Windows 7 Pro is not easy now. Microsoft is pushing everyone up to Windows 8.
I ran the beta on home pro without issue.
There are components that are only avaiable in Pro. If I'm not mistaken, only the Pro edtion can be joined to a domain for instance. So External Authentication against a domain controller would not work with Home.
I'm sure there are other differences that affect functionality.
I wonder it can be installed on Home. (Since FM13Pro couldn't install on XP. Detecting os edition may be harder than os version?)
External Authentication against default defined local group 'Administrators' and 'Users' worked.
I tryed it only for fun.

I think it has been established that it can install. But not all functionality will work. EA against a *domain* controller would not work I think because the Home edition can be made a member of any domain. Other likely area where differences can play a role is in IIS.
