I have tried using the Char functionas well but run into the error below each time in script debugger.
Error 508 - "Invalid value entered in Find mode"
I do not want anything in the field after the operator unless the user types it there.
The user will be in find mode and I would like to give them a menu that provides an "insert operator" function on any chosen field which they can then edit before performing a find.
I simply want to duplicate the functions of the Toolbar in a very limited space.
Thanks for the help.
Insert calculated result
set field[the field; "<123"]
or if you want to find the chars itself in text field, need to be quoted since they are finding operators.
set field[the field; "\"<\""]
Thanks for the input user19752.
The characters "\"<\"" set the operator in quotes "<".
Any ideas how to get rid of the quotes?
set field[the field; "<"]
will set the field without quotes, but this is not valid find criteria then cause error 508 you first wrote.
something after the char should be there like "<123" as "find less than 123".
Also, see here:
you can use the backslash without the quotes
