I've noticed if I edit a photo in my library (ie crop it), then insert the photo into a container field it doesn't display the edit photo but the original image. Is there a way to fix this?
I have a feeling that iPhoto edits "losslessly", ie. without altering the original image. iPhoto itself may then display the edited version internally, but when you export it to another environment, in this case FM, you'll get the whole image file. You may need to open the image in a different editor (eg. Photoshop) and save your edited version there.
When you edit a file in the photo library, an additional file with a .xmp extension is created. I believe this file stores the changes and the original file is untouched. Unfortunately when you use the file, you get the original version. As keyword suggested, you will probably need to edit the photo in another app.
I do this all the time with drag and drop from iPhoto (9.5.1 currently) to a container in FMP12 and I always get the edited image in the container.
Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my question. I'm using an iPad and FIleMaker Go.
I have never tried this from an iPad. We use the ipads to get rough images of inventory in the container and ad real images later.
