There's a jazillion resources out there to help you find how to create a global-based find.

Use global fields in Browse mode to collect the criteria. Have a button labels "Run report" that runs a script that performs a find using that criteria.
Could you please further explain how to use gloabl field to collect the criteria. Perhaps make up an example.
Sound like you are asking how to do a "and" search where returned items need to match all search criteria - is this what you are asking?
If you are asking how to do an "or" seach then that involves the creation of multiple search request lines/forms and entering a different criteria in each request so that the returned set inclues all items that match any of the search criteria.
Which is it?
