For a RS232 interface application I need to sent a string containing a number of null characters (char(0)). However in building up the string all characters can be concatenated except for the Null character. Has anyone here a solution?
Interesting... how to concactinate a nothing. Funny whe you think about it philosophically.
But back to your question, I would check with the guys at TROI (www.TROI.com) because they make a serial port plugin that I have used with phone systems and I bet they would know how to do this.
Perhaps an escape sequence for Null might work? (e.g.: \0, \z, or \x00 )
Had a similar problem (years later :-)). In case someone is still looking at this, Base64Decode ( "AA==" ) might be a solution for this problem as char(0) still (v16) produces an empty string.
