I've been in the same situation. Mac Mini, Filemaker Pro 11, 10.6.8 server and just bought FMS 13. Do not use Mavericks server, there will be conflicts in preferences. I was on the phone with Filemaker tring to resolve these conflicts today. I plan on doing a clean install of Mavericks then FMS this weekend as recomended by Filemaker.
Thanks for the advise.
I am sure it will help many people.
At least we will be 2 in this world to install FMS 13 on Mavericks this weekend....
After installing FMS on a Maverick-Server I had a lot of trouble with prefs and used serverports etc.
Clean install of Mavericks 10.9.2 and everything is working fine, out of the box with default installation procedures.
I wiped #1 SSD and installed Mavericks - no server. Still get dropsouts on the Mini. Same siutation with FMS12 on #2 SSD with Mavericks.
Woa, very strange. How old is your Macmini?
I´m using an iMac Mid 2007 (silver) IntelCore2Duo, 4 GB RAM, OSX 10.9.2 - and again - working fine!
OK Great. I have upgraded my FMS11 on 10.6.8 Server Macmini to FMS 13 on Mavericks (not the server one), same Macmini.
Did a clean install of Mavericks. It was pretty easy and fast. The FMS 13 setup is great, DB upload from FMP13 is a great feature.
Fell like everything is much faster....
Bought from Apple February 2014. Btw - Apple Canada is getting me a new one to test with as the original one is "suspect".
