I want to create a small database of books.

I am scanning ISBN number and I want to populate fileds like "autor", "Language", "Year", "Title" and so on.

I am not a programer, I want to know the simplest way to use these API to populate some fields automaticaly.

Here is what I found:

http://xisbn.worldcat.org/xisbnadmin/doc/api.htm

I read we can use Amazon.com

Anyways, I just want to learn a bit more about these query and the best ways to use them.

I am using filemaker pro advance 13

Thanks a lot

getMetadata

This service returns metadata information about requested ISBN.

 http://xisbn.worldcat.org/webservices/xid/isbn/0596002815?method=getMetadata&format=xml&fl=*

The response is an XML formatted message similar to this example.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <rsp xmlns="http://worldcat.org/xid/isbn/" stat="ok"> <isbn title="Learning Python" form="BA" year="2004" lang="eng" ed="2nd ed.">0596002815</isbn> </rsp>
