Saving FileMaker Preferences

Is there a way to save developer preferences from one FileMaker installation to another? I am not talking about data or solution preferences. I am referring to grid setup, guides, etc. I am using Windows 8.1 Update 1.

I have recently had two system failures that caused me to lose my settings. First was a Windows 8 corruption issue that lead to a format and reinstall. The second was an attempt to install FileMaker 12 on my machine with FM 13 v3. Side note, I do this to allow me to open FileMaker on two monitors. Second side note, don't attempt to install FM 13 on a machine with FM 13 v3 installed. It results in both v1 and v3 on the same machine with the inability to uninstall or repair. Only way around it that I found was to manually delete every reference to FileMaker in the Windows registry.
