copy the applescript to the FMS scrpts folder and set up a new FMS schedule choosing the "system script" option, you will then be able to select your applescript.
I have placed the script in the FMS script folder and created a schedule. When the scheduled system script runs, FMS reports "aborted by the user" in the status area.
What should I do next?
Check your permissions on those folders. You may want to elevate your user rights for the shell scripts.
Hope this helps,
If you're familiar enough with CLI, you might consider writing a shell script directly and scheduling it with cron, instead of having an applescript that calls shell script commands. That way you're also not dependant on fmserver privileges to perform these actions.
I've run into the same thing, John, with the same FMS error message. I've found that there are some shell scripts that simply won't run under FileMaker Server server-side scripting no matter what you do with permissions. I chose to do what Mike suggested, schedule it via Cron (Cronix is a GUI front end to Cron).
I tried the permission thing and that did not work. So, I just added the applescript to a FM file script and have FMS call the FM script and it works!
Thanks to everyone for the help!
