    Server export failing

    mark.stuller

I have diagnosed this enough to know I'm at the end of my limited ideas. Hoping someone may have solved the riddle.

I would like to have a scheduled script that emails the contents of records, including attaching the contents of a single container field to users.

      pseudo-code:

      # Find all records needing an email sent

      Perform Find [Restore]

      if ( get ( foundcount ) )

      loop

      set $pathName // to get ( documentspath) & getcontainerattributes ( containername ; "filename" )

      export field contents to $pathName

      Send email with attachment $pathName

      Set field 'sent' to 1

goto next record; exit after last

      end loop

      end if

The email gets sent without the attachment. The $pathName file never gets created and so can't get sent. If I manually place a file in the documents path (testfile.txt below), that is sent successfully. The export field contents line generates error #3 Command is unavailable (for example, wrong operating system, wrong mode, etc.)

I suspected permissions, but here are those and they look correct.

      filemaker5$ cd /Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Documents

      filemaker5$ ls -al

      total 0

      drwxrwxr-x 2 fmserver fmsadmin 68 Dec 12 2012 .

      drwxrwxr-x 9 fmserver fmsadmin 306 Jan 28 10:45 ..

      filemaker5$ touch testfile.txt

      filemaker5$ ls -al

      total 0

      drwxrwxr-x 3 fmserver fmsadmin 102 Jul 14 13:25 .

      drwxrwxr-x 9 fmserver fmsadmin 306 Jan 28 10:45 ..

      -rw-r----- 1 iss fmsadmin 0 Jul 14 13:25 testfile.txt

      Any other ideas?

Mac OS X 10.9.1 (under VMWare EXSI); FileMaker Server 13.0.2.295

      TIA Mark
