Your script does not commit the record.
Thankyou for that.
So now it's:
- Go to Layout [ “A” (ATable) ]
- Go to Record/Request/Page [ First ]
- Set Variable [ $R; Value:A::Sausages ]
- Set Field [ A::Sausages; $R + 1 ]
- Commit Records / Requests [No Dialog]
but it still deosn't work?
Your "normal" number field doesn't happen to be a global field does it?
Yes is is David. Is that the issue?
Of course it is. Thankyou very much David.
I've been looking at this down a tunnel.................
Globals are session specific when in a hosted environment. The values are reset to what they started at when the file was put on to the Server.
You'll have to find a way to put the field in to a place where it can exist as a non-global field. Perhaps as a field in a single-record table. Put the value into a variable and then move to this admin table, set the field and continue.
Just completed doing that and my problem is solved!
