I'm not sure if the slides are different from what's on the FileMaker Inc website but there is recommended memory/CPU options at this link:

I can't imagine the slides would be different than the website.
Here is a knowledge base article that provides a little more information.
Thank you both for the quick response and for the links to the needed information.
FYI, my (albeit incomplete) experience so far is that very careful layout design is essential if you want WD to scale beyond 3 or 4 users even if the server meets the recommendations.
So just in case anyone has ideas that this is mainly about provisioning your server, it might well be more important to follow the recomendations here closely: https://fmhelp.filemaker.com/docs/13/en/fm13_webdirect_guide.pdf
I have a WebDirect layout running on a mac mini server 16 GB RAM. 15 concurrent users without any hiccup.
Layout design is as lightweight as possible.
RAM is cheap, there is no harm adding as much as you can, same with processor power.
Developers are still updating their session materials. I will probably have another update to my materials in a few days. Also remember that sessions were recorded and will be available for download later.
Definitely read the guide Simon posted above, especially Appendix A which has the expected behavior differences.
Definitely design your layouts specifically for WebDirect, and keep them as light as possible.
