add to that charting and pdf creation... I've been asking for these things for a VERY long time... I doubt it's going to happen any time soon. the pdf thing I get, because there's licensing issues to consider, but charting within a runtime... ?
I'm not sure but here we can read license.
FMI have license for redistribute, but runtime developer need each redistribute license if he copy chart library in FMP ?
oh, this old "licensing" thing - there are free pdf libraries out there, which FM Inc. could have integrated. And on the Mac they wouldn´t even need any license, just the use of the system features.
And if they programmed their charting on their own, they could have integrated that in the runtime easily too.
An old, old question. The answer may actually be found in the premise that the product FileMaker 'Pro' serves to define.
At this time, FileMaker Server, FileMaker WebDirect, FileMaker Go would be your avenue of choice for standalone, networkable FileMaker solutions.
So get out there and sell us some FileMaker!
Else, invent a way to break out of your box, since you can.
I hope to be corrected on this, but my FM licensing calculations indicates that, if I have a 10,000 user desktop base with 5 users per client average I can expect to pay:
10,000 x $9.00 per month for cals = $1,080,000 PA
and (assuming 1,000 server licenses) 1,000 x $29 per month = $348,000
for the grand total of $1,428,000 PA (plus WD and Go cals minus a bulk discount is I order them all at the same time?)
Surely I have this completely wrong.
