I would say that there's got to be a typo involved somewhere.
I just tried the same thing on my Windows (13.0v3) server, and it ran like a champ. I am sure I used the same credentials as I would to log in to the web interface.
Wish I could be of more help here, though.
EDIT: Are you an administrator at the OS X level? I wouldn't think it would make a difference, but it might.

Nothing's changed here AFAIK. Any spaces in either your username or pw?
Definitely not a typo.
Yes, I'm an admin on the system level as well. I can sudo if necessary but I've never had to before.
No spaces but my password contains some symbol characters. Is that no longer allowed in 13, or is there a list of characters which should now be avoided?
Do you pass your credentials with the command line? Or do you just get prompted?
Try both ways and see if that changes anything. An odd idea, but could point us in the right direction.
I've tried both; neither way works. (One advantage of using -p password is you can see that you're typing it right.)
I am not aware of any restrictions on special characters, but it is easy enough to test. Reset your pw to not have any and see if it works. If it does work, add each one back in turn and see which one breaks it.
