Interactive container in layout = Insert Current Date command Zooms PDF

FileMaker Pro 13v3 (Advanced) Mac (OS 10.7.5)

I have an interactive PDF container on various layouts. I just discovered that if such an object is on a layout, I can no longer

use the Command-Minus keyboard shortcut to insert today's date. Instead, it decreases the display size of the PDF,

as if the zoom command was selected from within the container.

This happens when the cursor is in another field (a date field or any other field), even after waiting several seconds.

At no time does the cursor move from the other field and the mouse is nowhere near the container.

Standard Menus are in effect.

The container field has been excluded from the tab order.

The 'Insert Current Date' command does still work only when selected from the Insert menu.

Wow. Anybody else experiencing this or have suggestions for whether I'm doing

anything to cause this or if there are good workarounds?

( I'll check to see if this happens in Mavericks or Windows as well. )
